Hm. I've only been a slasher for three years, but your comment didn't register as odd to me at all. :)
I did think he was being a total guy, just thinking about fucking or, in this case, being fucked.

I do think there are many people who subscribe to the notion that to be fucked somehow lessens you. Of course, many of those people don't realize by accepting that (homophobic) notion, they are also accepting the premise about themselves (if they are women, as many slashers are.) Are they lessened every time they have sex? Unless they're pegging, if they have intercourse, they are receiving.

Frankly, I have an emotional kink about seeing the big guy on the bottom because to me it signifies the more pleasurable role (is that because I'm a woman? Let's just say it's a dual input thing. ;) and pleasure gives emotional movement (as a writer, I find that useful). So I will generally put the character who is having the emotional moment on the bottom.

I don't think emotion is unmanly, either. Probably because I have major issues expressing my own, and I"m all woman. :)

I haven't figured all of this out, though. Slash is a fascinating, complex phenomenon, and truly, different people get different things out of it. I recognize that.

But it frustrates me beyond words when people talk about certain characters being "too macho to bottom." Puleeeze.
