blather +DO meme +sequel to A Small Mercy finally finished
hey guys:
I'm back from lovely Toronto, land of the loonie. Discovered my life had sort of fallen apart in my absence, but I'm finally getting a handle on it.
In that spirit, I'm starting a new meme:
DO meme
Pick *one thing* that drives you nuts EVERY SINGLE DAY, and fix it. (tell us what and how)
For me, that one thing is my shoelaces. They are constantly coming untied and getting stuck in my pedals. So, I am swapping them out today for cotton ones that aren't all slippery and always losing their knots.
In other news, at the con, during
secretlybronte's writing party, I started working on the long-promised sequel to A Small Mercy (the one where Victoria goes NUTS on Fraser's ass) and it is now COMPLETE and in beta with the lovely and talented
nos4a2no9. Warning: it takes a *long time* to fix boys when you break them badly, so be prepared for 39 pages and 15K wds of mostly fucked up smut and angst. Coming your way in the near future.
It's all Nos' fault.

Missed you at the con, so so much. So so badly that I have decided NEVER to attend another unless you will be there.
So *there*.

Hmm. I took a load of vids to the basement that I never watch which gave me room to put the ones I do watch into alphabetical order so I know what I have. That's about as close as I can get.

and good on your "do"!

seeeeeequel!
and Yay! for a DO meme, and especially your kick-off, which reminds me that starting small still is starting. (Don't get me started re: shoelaces. In the good old days of waxed cotton ...)
Re: seeeeeequel!
er.
The problem is: I went to three stores yesterday and couldn't find cotton laces. I'm not sure what my recourse is, here. Make my own shoelaces? Rub the existing ones down with rubber cement?
Little help?
Bueller? Bueller?
In the meantime I must pick another Do.
(I'm glad you are looking forward to the sequel. I hope it lives up!)

My right leg is not working quite the way it should, last week I had to take off of work (strangely, this occurred when Sci-fi was running Sentinel episodes) and ice it down and elevate it up while I was forced to lay on the couch most of the day. So. I've started doing lots more stretches every day so when I walk it doesn't hurt. And I'm going to go to a chiropracter and make sure everything is where it's supposed to be. I'm usually walking five miles a day and I don't want to get laid up for injuries. Seriously, it hurt enough that I had to keep popping aspirin at night to be able to go to sleep. It's better but not completely right.

Hope you do your stretches and it keeps getting better, Laurie.
Meanwhile, I'm gonna google "cotton laces" :)

I should have it back to you by tomorrow, sweet-cheeks.
And holy hell, you started this at the writing party? How did you manage to write 32 pages of this quality so quickly? Nevermind. I don't want to know. The answer will make me feel very lazy. I'll probably cry :-)

Anyway, it's not about overcoming laziness, it's about every so often a story just grabbing you by the throat. I bet Price of Distance hit you that way.
Thank you so much for doing the beta. I rely heavily on your willingness to help me not-suck.
