Five Geometries

By Arrow

i. The shallow curve of Ray's neck where it meets his spine. Fraser watches the arc deepen as Lieutenant Welsh gives them an overly patient reprimand for not yet solving the case.

Outside, Fraser draws Ray's attention to a detail on the coroner's report, and the curve goes straight.

ii. Beneath the tight black jeans, along the outside of Ray's thigh, a rigid plane of tension will form, telling Fraser they are about to move, and quickly.

Fraser gathers himself for the charge.

iii. Ray's eyelids crease in a tight fold when he is particularly pleased.

Inside, Fraser feels a wave of fierce pride and affection that makes him smile far too widely in return.

iv. When Ray is puzzling out a stubborn clue, his head cocks at a precise forty-eight degree angle.

Fraser fears Ray's ability to triangulate.

v. The pizza describes an uneven circle where it grows cold on the table. The round black of Ray's pupils widens in desire to eclipse the perfect blue.

Ray's kiss erases any further powers of observation.

My LORD, what are you ON lately? You are writing so much and it's all WONDERFUL.

I adore this, particularly ii.--it's so sexy and so wrapped up in the intensity of their work at the same time, and really brings out that one of the things Fraser finds so hot about him is that he's so damn good at his job. Yum.

Yes! Hotness incarnate.

Thank you, my spuff.

Fraser observing this quietly, this precisely, makes me shiver and go to my happy place.

I think a Venn diagram of our happy places would reveal some severe overlap. :)

Thanks, Jane.

Never ever stop writing in this fandom. Seriously. *clings* (You're so prolific lately! *happy wriggle*)

The whole concept of Fraser spending his time just considering Ray is yum. &hearts

Eeee! Tx, sweetpea! *smishes you to pieces*

The whole concept of Fraser spending his time just considering Ray is yum.

There is just so very much *Rayness* for him to ponder. Fortunately, he has a big brain and can multi-task his thought processes, otherwise he'd never get a thing done.

Wow, what a wonderfully perfect line. I really liked this snippet; you did a wonderful job with a conciseness that I envy.

Oh, this was wonderful! The economy of language really enhanced the impact of all 178 words: there's no fat here, nothing but lean, mean, beautifully evocative description. I could think about Fraser thinking about Ray aaaaaall day.

And I'm with [livejournal.com profile] pir8fancier: stop stealing all the ideas! :-)

Lovely use of language in this. It's so eay to imagine Fraser patiently watching, taking cues from Ray, craving those tiny responses. And Fraser fears Ray's ability to triangulate. is ... such an economic way of expressing a very big idea. Which this all is, really, and that's the beauty of math.

When Ray is puzzling out a stubborn clue, his head cocks at a precise forty-eight degree angle.

I love that this made me go "Oh, Fraser!" when it was all about Ray. It's all efficient and reflective and shiny. Uh... like Fraser. Did that make sense? Cold medicine.

From: [identity profile] arrow00.livejournal.com
Hee! Interesting. (not the cold medicine, altho that's interesting too. I've written some of my best stuff on NyQuil.)
