yow, thanks. Harlan is one of my favorite writers. actually, during the episode after VS, "Letting Go," in which Fraser is peeking out the hospital window into the courtyard, I remember thinking more of Harlan's short story about the gods we make (gods of violence, in that case), rather than "Rear Window." That was the story with the apartment block and the woman who was murdered there in the yard.

I think it's in Death Bird Stories. That whole book terrified me.
