Well, that just boggles my mind, really. I mean, I do think they should have had Jim apologize in the end instead of just saying all those nice things about Blair being the best friend and partner a guy could have. But whereas Jim might've *said* something mean? Blair actually *did* things that had horrible repercussions. Because Blair tries to cover it up and sticks his head in the sand instead of containing the problem. Not that I think *Blair* is the bad guy, but I don't think Jim is either—he had every right to be out of his mind: his whole life was being torn apart, which is the opposite of what an anthropologist is supposed to do to a subject.
