Ray, in fact, was not born yesterday. And he considers it proof of Fraser's utter freakitude (because, yes, "freakitude" is a word now; wasn't Fraser the one who'd spent ten minutes over lunch the other day going on about the evolution of language and something something it IS a word, Fraser) that Fraser's version of the classic "car out of gas on a quiet back road" would involve spending the day looking for rare birds and following animal tracks in a somewhat removed plot and then being told that death lurks behind every sun-warmed rock in your camping spot at night. But Ray is nothing if not a team player (rooting for the home team all the way), and he pitches in by nudging the edge of his splayed bag with one foot before glancing over to Fraser's side, where Mr. I Forgot to Fill Up Back There's bag is still rolled up nice and tight.
