I'm a tad worried that covid loves me a little too much. Despite being a mild dose compared to last time, the same tiredness nonsense that dogged me for two or three months after the first bout continues after this one too. I nap heavily every day, and yeah. Whole new insight into CFS daughter's frustration and grumps.

Part time work manageable, garden not a complete shambles (pink princess dahlia lives up to her name, roses still alive), kitchen a total shambles, and no writing. Bah!

I've watched the gay hockey show. I enjoyed it, but I'm not fannish about it. At least I have a reference point now. :-)

Tabby Little isn't the hunter that Miss Calico was, which is good. But she's still a cat. Miss Calico was an embarrassing exemplar of the cat that lengthily toys with its prey, but Tabby Little has a catch and dispatch approach. It's less distressing even if the clean-up after remains rather gross and generally feathery.

31. Do you like hot chocolate with or without marshmallows?

This one is easy. I don’t like marshmallows in my hot cocoa. I love hot cocoa just like it is. How about everyone else?

This is my 2026 New Year’s list.

2026 Wish List. I'll tell you how much I've done.
1. Read at least 15 books. (as of today I've read four books.)
2. Go to my wish list on Amazon and order one thing a month until my hallway bathroom is all new. It's going to be awesome. It'll probably take 8 or 9 months. I'll take pictures when I'm done. (haven't started much yet. Got a toilet paper holder a and that's it so far)
3. I'm tired of red and black in my kitchen. So I will start a new wishlist for kitchen remodel. I don't know if I'll get to it. I decided I still like red. I'm such a spaz )
4. Start a savings account for a trip to Hawaii in 2027. That gives us a year to plan. My brother Pete and his husband Steven are going with us. Pete has been twice. The guys will go on excursions while I swim, walk and visit with people. I can't keep up with them. And they know I'll do fine on the ship. (we have some money saved but it's not looking good. )
5. Make more time for volunteer work. There is no excuse for not doing more. (been volunteering at food bank and at a group home for developmentally disabled adults. I'm familiar with all of them because I used to be the manager. This is more fun for me )
6. Clean my walk in closet out. It's a mess. But I am determined to get it done. (haven't even started yet. I just have to make myself do it.)
7. Try to join one more community on Dreamwidth. They all give me something to do. (I joined about 6 or 7 new communities. I'm looking forward to doing some things. )
8. Work on my six new children books. I have the art so far and the story ideas. I just have to get busy. They're so cute. (Ive got all the art in order, now I just need my children poetry to go with the art. It's harder than it sounds. But I do enjoy it. )
9. Try to write something every night, even if its a threesentenceficathon or drabble. (I've been so busy with Snowflake Challenge that I only have about 7,000 words done on Sentinel fic. But I did finish my SmallFandomBang stories. So that's about an extra 4500 words. I had two to finish. So, I'm happy to be done with it. )
10. Try to find time to watch some decent movies. It's as important as reading to me (I've only watched one at the theaters and it was Rental Family. It was such a sweet little film. A lot of subtitles, but it was worth it. Brendan Fraser did an excellent job. Has anyone else seen it?)

30. In 1873, Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne was published in France. Have you read the book or seen any of the films?

No I have read this but I did watch the movie. Many years ago. Did everyone read the book? What did you think of it?

Warning about iPhone update 26.2

A while back, [personal profile] princessofgeeks warned her reading list NOT to update iPhones to 26.2, that the changes in appearance and message were very unpleasant.

I appreciated her warning, and have refused the update 2 or 3 times. But I knew it would keep bugging me, so I went looking for a way to avoid the update permanently.

I found this article, which explains how. The guy says that switching to the "18" track will avoid the "26" track permanently. And if you've already updated, and dislike it as much as PrincessofGeeks does -- if I'm reading it right, setting your iPhone on the "18" track will delete the 26.2 update.

There are probably plenty of people who will like the update. But if not, now there's a remedy. I already have an uneasy relationship with my iPhone. I don't need an update that makes me change how I do old stuff, and learn new stuff, so I've rejected it sight unseen.

If any of your peeps have been unhappy about this latest update, feel free to link to this post.

Snowflake Challenge 15: How did it go?

I had a great deal of fun. I agree with others that posting the daily prompts late, it slowed me down. But I had a wonderful time. I met a lot of new people, learned much about fandoms I'm not used to and enjoyed all of the challenges. I think we should have one in July. Hahaha. It was that fun.
