2008 was a pretty good year for me, writing-wise. Not as prolific as some previous, perhaps, but I had an album to release and have rediscovered my love of ceramics.

This is because Nos wants us to.

2008 Fannish Year in Review

Wherein I link to everything I've written this past year and then yammer about it.
(Not for the faint of heart.)

Total word count: ~108,300 wds. in dS/TS. 166K total.
dS/TS/SH Stories: 39
Drabbles: 2

    Fraser/Other:
  • Around, Around [Fraser/Eric | NC-17] — Eric stays to say thank you.
  • Smaller Gods [Fraser/RayV | G] — Fraser finds solace in ritual.
    Starsky/Hutch:
  • Four Score and Ten [ER | NC-17] — Four score and ten years ago, Hutch and me set forth in this metropolis...
  • Legacy [FT | PG] — It's all about the jacket.

The Year End Meme questions (from [livejournal.com profile] nos4a2no9):

My best story(ies) of this year:
Ack. Um. I'll go with All the Space, and Time, since it was a difficult subject and took the most craft in pacing.
My favourite story of this year:
I think Steveness. Drunken Ray, with a sweetness. Good pacing.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
People really seem to be kind to me with the comments, so no entry on this one.
Most fun story to write:
Script Edit, my first RPF. Circles within circles.
Sexiest story:
Er. I think Your Finest Feature. It's all about Benton's ass.
Story with the single sexiest moment:
Not Poison for Jim on his knees.
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Not really risky, but Perfect: Fraser gives a really bad blow-job.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
Freaks: Ray wants Fraser in a dress.
Hardest story to write:
Understood. Very personal subject. Hard to write.
Biggest Disappointment:
Observer Effect: I had a good concept, but not the best execution.
Biggest Surprise:
Understood. People responded in a really wonderful way.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
Pajama comment fic (w/ Jane Davitt) because, um. Cocks and flannel.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
It was more than I'd realized. I never predict. I'm just happy I can do it at all.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2007?
Fraser/Eric
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
First time writing from Eric's POV taught me a lot.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
A novel.
I'd like to thank the academy... (Thanks to your betas, frequent commenters/supporters, the people who stayed up with you late on IM...)
Always, always, Nos, for being a voice of encouragement. And the folks who always comment: you keep me going. Thank you so, so much.

Hooray! I was really hoping you'd do this meme! I mean, my motives are entirely selfish, since this is the perfect excuse to go back and wallow around in your brilliant stories, but look! You've reflected on a great year in the fandom, and you've learned things! Like, um, that Fraser has a nice ass, and Eric POV is awesome. GO YOU!

And awww, thanks for the thank-you. I feel the same way, hon. I know how tricky "Understood" was for you to finish, and I think the final result was amazing. That one has my vote for best story of the year, although wow, yes, All the Space, and Time is pretty awesome too. Ack! So hard to choose!

Happy holidays, snooks! Thank you so much for putting this together! *smishes*
