hey kids: because of the April Shower's Challenge, I have finally, *finally* gotten off my ass and uploaded all my dS and Sentinel stories to AO3. FINALLY. Considering I've been volunteering for the OTW for 3 years and helping to administer the damned servers (which we own, tyvm, so they will never, ever be taking down by TOS bullshit) it's very lame of me to have taken so long.

So here's the news:

I'm at faviconarrow! You will also find my SGA and H50 stuff there as I mainly write under faviconesteefee these days, so I bit the bullet and imported all of those as well, and my Starsky & Hutch stuff is now finally up too under my molo pseud. (I suffer from multiple-writer-personality disorder.)

GOD, I never realized how very *much* I have made with the blah-blah-blah over these past six years.

Thanks for reading. Hope I can keep on writing.

I'm going to have to go on a downloading spree!

yes, that's me! you are so sweet, [livejournal.com profile] pharis. I posted three new Image (http://archiveofourown.org/users/esteefee/pseuds/molo)molo (http://archiveofourown.org/users/esteefee/pseuds/molo) stories from zines, but I still have a backlog because editors like to make with the crazy formatting. :) but if you're looking, there are two new stories in the Big One (http://archiveofourown.org/series/7297) series and Boys in Blue (http://archiveofourown.org/works/178142).

Thanks for the heads up. Ooh, I didn't know you were writing H 5-0, to0! So cool. I try to read as well as write for it but there is SO MUCH FIC POSTED, lol.

Not that that is ever a bad thing, it's just impossible to keep up.

I am working on getting all mine up there; I just (just) have my Buffy fics to go, but there are around 200 of them and I keep starting and despairing.

But if you wrote H50 fanfic, when would I get a sequel to Hourglass? *ducks*

Date: 2011-04-05 03:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] janedavitt.livejournal.com
Heh, well, I'm trying to juggle fic and pro writing because I love doing both, so there will definitely be more H 5-0 fic from me, but a sequel to Hourglass? Not very likely :-( I left them happy and a sequel would require screwing that up, at least temporarily, and I'd hate that. It's why sequels generally don't happen with romances; where do you go after an HEA ending?

But I'm chuffed that you'd want one; Hourglass is very dear to my heart and I loved writing it.

yes, I know what you mean about backlog...I got into a good rhythm with the importing though and just went for it. my old beta helped me out, too.

From: [identity profile] janedavitt.livejournal.com
The rhythm helps ::nods:; I got about 500 up in a week or so, fandom by fandom, but ack, I wrote so much for Buffy and Angel and it's my earliest work so some of it I'm just meh about and lots are long and linked and eh, complicated :-) But I'm too much of a completist not to get it done.

Eventually :-)

Sorry for the incredibly late reply, a close friend had a medical emergency right after, and I spent most of the time between driving between my town and hers, with a two day break towards the end to spend time with my Sister...also out of town. Took me a few days to recover, after that. ::chuckles::

Life for me...goes. ::chuckles:: My life dosn't change much, year to year, honestly. I really missed you at BP '10, though! My friend [livejournal.com profile] skyebanshee came down from Canada, and I wanted her to meet you. I even had the Dief post card you gave me in my purse! I still love that, so much! Though it's gone missing since then. ::pouts:: (And I already asked, no, Skye did not secret it away when I wasn't looking. ::pouts some more::)

How have YOU been?? It's been ages, girl! ::picks you up and spins you 'round::

And I still can't believe I didn't know you were Esteefee. hehehe

Please tell me that if your muse whispers from the backseat of the Torino, you'll share it with the class. I miss reading your S/H! Glad your talent is still being expressed, hope life is letting you smile, sending hugs,

I actually dreamed about SH last night...and I'm having dS bunnies as well. and Jim and Blair will never leave me alone, so....I'm just glad to be writing again. It was a long, dry spell while life was hammering on me.

But now I have to decide how to link these in my fanfic folders, because I will forget. *scratches head*

well, you can always just dump 'em together.

Ah, but if I put everything in an 'Estefee' folder, and go looking for that story by 'Arrow', I'm sunk. I'll probably keep both folders, but rename them: "Estefee, aka Arrow" and "Arrow, aka Estefee".

I did try to notify people behind the scenes when I saw crossover, but I obviously missed you, and I'm sorry.

No need; it's not like we're close personal friends. And, it doesn't matter if I find a crossover under 'Arrow' or 'Estefee'; I'll enjoy it whether or not I know the authors are the same person.

hey, you know I love Nine Day Fall- I remember you sending it to me and I printed it out and read it at work like it was some big important report I was reviewing.

And I wondered what happened to you - know you got sucker punched last year - thought maybe you'd given up writing but gald to see you haven't.

and to my french ear - esteefee - sounds a lot like fucking fairy

Date: 2011-04-05 09:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] arrow00.livejournal.com
I remember that! yes, "Very Important Report." :)))

I've been sucker-punched for the past 7, really. last year the axe finally fell for hopefully the last time. So, a couple of months ago I took a look around and went, huh. I guess I can start my life again now.

Oddly enough, that's when I started writing again.

How are you, lamb chop? Still snuggly, I hope? I need to get back in touch.

ps: esteefee is how the aliens misnamed the "Extra-Terrestrial Rations, Type 3"...it's from Little Fuzzy by H. Beam Piper. but I think I like your translation better.

I wondered too, since I had just made another comment that wasn't screened. But, with all LJ's been going through, small potatoes.

Hunh! I thought you pointed me to the LF link in the first place. I was happy to find it; I have the paperback, as well as the sequels, but they're still packed away from my move. I spent a couple of days, about six months back, just wallowing in nostalgia.

Hi Arrow!

Ack, sorry! I have just discovered the notification of your reply got marked as spam by my ISP and therefore wasn't sent to the in-box that I actually use--which is not the ISP's webmail, but Thunderbird running on my actual computer. (Call me a control freak--you wouldn't be the first--but I prefer dealing with programs on my own computer over running them in cyberspace. I know the battle's already lost, but that token protest makes me feel better. :)

So, yes, I'm on AO3 at: faviconj_s_cavalcante. (BTW, that took some frakkin' work, figuring out how to code that. Is there an easier way? How did people find the cute little AO3 user icon in the first place? Despite what I said above, I don't use a client like Semagic. I could never get it to work for me. Probably because I refused on principle to read the frakkin' manual. I'm of the black-box school: technology should just WORK, like a light switch. Anything you need a manual for is too damn complicated. It's like chopsticks, which are infinitely preferable to a knife and fork: proof the chef did all the work requiring sharp implements. :)

I still think HTML is hilarious, many years after I should have stopped being amused (not to mention disturbed) that we're essentially back to the early days of word processors.... This is why I forsook the other dozen WPs I learned and started using MS Word exclusively. It was the only one with a MENU, way back when (*cough* MS-DOS *cough*). Instead of a pile of [expletive redacted] codes to memorize.

In conclusion, Ray Kowalski. In other words, people with ADHD should totally run the world, MWAHAHAHA...except we'd misplace it. :)

So, where was I? I put all my DS stuff up on AO3 last year, all except for the four pieces of the Academic AU, and I probably should give up and post them there, too. I was just holding them back because they're essentially parts of a WIP and therefore are subject to revision.

I've been holding back my old Star Trek stuff because most of it isn't ready for prime time. So I understand perfectly about one's early work. Mind you, I do expect great things from you, but I promise with regard to your early work to remember that it's, you know, early work. :)

Now as to S&H--I've never been in touch with the fandom (except for a couple of brief convos with [livejournal.com profile] sjames_centre), but as a teen I loved the show! And it was the first one that I loved for its slashy bits even though I didn't quite think of things going further than cuddling. But it had un certain je ne sais quoi that got me and my sister squealing with delight every time one of them got blown into the other's arms or they climbed into a bed together. :) Really subtle, that show was. Anyway, I don't read S&H fic often, but that's because I don't stumble upon any very often, and I don't often go looking for anything outside whatever fandom I'm being serially monogamous with at the moment. All other considerations aside, I haven't got time for that.

I haven't even had much time for DS; haven't been around much for the past year, what with school and the reno of the Art Cave, etc. So that's why I didn't know you were not around, either. If I'd known, I would have wept bitter tears, and also threatened to kick you in the head or something (like Ray) but not really (like Fraser)...just, YOU CAN'T LEAVE! WAAAAAH. Do not want.

Okay, well. I'll attempt to keep the lights on in the Canadian shack, should you decide to return. :)

Hoey Mobuffs! I gotta get back to work.... I hope all is well with you. {{{hugs}}}
