hey kids: because of the April Shower's Challenge, I have finally, *finally* gotten off my ass and uploaded all my dS and Sentinel stories to AO3. FINALLY. Considering I've been volunteering for the OTW for 3 years and helping to administer the damned servers (which we own, tyvm, so they will never, ever be taking down by TOS bullshit) it's very lame of me to have taken so long.

So here's the news:

I'm at faviconarrow! You will also find my SGA and H50 stuff there as I mainly write under faviconesteefee these days, so I bit the bullet and imported all of those as well, and my Starsky & Hutch stuff is now finally up too under my molo pseud. (I suffer from multiple-writer-personality disorder.)

GOD, I never realized how very *much* I have made with the blah-blah-blah over these past six years.

Thanks for reading. Hope I can keep on writing.

Hey, you wrote Starsky & Hutch? Why did I not know this? Will have to go look. In the meantime, this is cool...lots of stuff. :)

\o/ How about you? Are you on AO3? they have a subscription feature now so gimme so I can subscribe. :)

And I didn't know you *read* Starsky and Hutch. :) yeah, they were my very first fiction in my very first fandom, so, you know: have a healthy expectation. ;) Try Nine Day Fall (http://archiveofourown.org/works/175341). I think it's one of my better ones, in spite of being in first person.

hey, you know I love Nine Day Fall- I remember you sending it to me and I printed it out and read it at work like it was some big important report I was reviewing.

And I wondered what happened to you - know you got sucker punched last year - thought maybe you'd given up writing but gald to see you haven't.

and to my french ear - esteefee - sounds a lot like fucking fairy

I remember that! yes, "Very Important Report." :)))

I've been sucker-punched for the past 7, really. last year the axe finally fell for hopefully the last time. So, a couple of months ago I took a look around and went, huh. I guess I can start my life again now.

Oddly enough, that's when I started writing again.

How are you, lamb chop? Still snuggly, I hope? I need to get back in touch.

ps: esteefee is how the aliens misnamed the "Extra-Terrestrial Rations, Type 3"...it's from Little Fuzzy by H. Beam Piper. but I think I like your translation better.

RE: the explanation of estefee. You can read Little Fuzzy online, in several formats. It's a delightful book.

I don't know why this was screened. Stupid LJ. I had no idea LF was online! eeeee!! Must link it to my profile.

I wondered too, since I had just made another comment that wasn't screened. But, with all LJ's been going through, small potatoes.

Hunh! I thought you pointed me to the LF link in the first place. I was happy to find it; I have the paperback, as well as the sequels, but they're still packed away from my move. I spent a couple of days, about six months back, just wallowing in nostalgia.

Hi Arrow!

Ack, sorry! I have just discovered the notification of your reply got marked as spam by my ISP and therefore wasn't sent to the in-box that I actually use--which is not the ISP's webmail, but Thunderbird running on my actual computer. (Call me a control freak--you wouldn't be the first--but I prefer dealing with programs on my own computer over running them in cyberspace. I know the battle's already lost, but that token protest makes me feel better. :)

So, yes, I'm on AO3 at: faviconj_s_cavalcante. (BTW, that took some frakkin' work, figuring out how to code that. Is there an easier way? How did people find the cute little AO3 user icon in the first place? Despite what I said above, I don't use a client like Semagic. I could never get it to work for me. Probably because I refused on principle to read the frakkin' manual. I'm of the black-box school: technology should just WORK, like a light switch. Anything you need a manual for is too damn complicated. It's like chopsticks, which are infinitely preferable to a knife and fork: proof the chef did all the work requiring sharp implements. :)

I still think HTML is hilarious, many years after I should have stopped being amused (not to mention disturbed) that we're essentially back to the early days of word processors.... This is why I forsook the other dozen WPs I learned and started using MS Word exclusively. It was the only one with a MENU, way back when (*cough* MS-DOS *cough*). Instead of a pile of [expletive redacted] codes to memorize.

In conclusion, Ray Kowalski. In other words, people with ADHD should totally run the world, MWAHAHAHA...except we'd misplace it. :)

So, where was I? I put all my DS stuff up on AO3 last year, all except for the four pieces of the Academic AU, and I probably should give up and post them there, too. I was just holding them back because they're essentially parts of a WIP and therefore are subject to revision.

I've been holding back my old Star Trek stuff because most of it isn't ready for prime time. So I understand perfectly about one's early work. Mind you, I do expect great things from you, but I promise with regard to your early work to remember that it's, you know, early work. :)

Now as to S&H--I've never been in touch with the fandom (except for a couple of brief convos with [livejournal.com profile] sjames_centre), but as a teen I loved the show! And it was the first one that I loved for its slashy bits even though I didn't quite think of things going further than cuddling. But it had un certain je ne sais quoi that got me and my sister squealing with delight every time one of them got blown into the other's arms or they climbed into a bed together. :) Really subtle, that show was. Anyway, I don't read S&H fic often, but that's because I don't stumble upon any very often, and I don't often go looking for anything outside whatever fandom I'm being serially monogamous with at the moment. All other considerations aside, I haven't got time for that.

I haven't even had much time for DS; haven't been around much for the past year, what with school and the reno of the Art Cave, etc. So that's why I didn't know you were not around, either. If I'd known, I would have wept bitter tears, and also threatened to kick you in the head or something (like Ray) but not really (like Fraser)...just, YOU CAN'T LEAVE! WAAAAAH. Do not want.

Okay, well. I'll attempt to keep the lights on in the Canadian shack, should you decide to return. :)

Hoey Mobuffs! I gotta get back to work.... I hope all is well with you. {{{hugs}}}

ha, I started on, like, wordstar? yeah, I think I bolded stuff with control-K characters, as I recall. :)

How did people find the cute little AO3 user icon in the first place?

I totally snarfed it from [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza. I assume she got it from the OTW announcement. :)

the reno of the Art Cave

you have been diving deep?

I haven't left, not really. I still have unfinished stories I plan to finish, and dS bunnies that won't quit on me. Don't you worry. :)) so keep the light on, my sweet, and I'm so very glad to have your AO3 personage to subscribe to.

so good to see you.
